The capes are flowing (especially when you fight) and awesome.

Yep, really cool. Unfortunately, they won't be on the demo. Ivan is working hard on them, but there are 300 cape animations needed, and he only was able to make 1/3rd of them for now.

Good stuff. Smile

Would you mind telling me which capes belong to which faction? I can only identify two (if I'm correct that is).

Woo! Shiny power. Seriously, those look great, but isn't there a faction missing? Or are the Forty Thieves just too underground and "kewl" to need a cape?

In all seriousness, great job. Can't wait to see them in action in the game proper.

Good stuff. Smile

I think that, from top left, going clockwise (total guesswork, here):

Boatmen
House Aurelian
Imperial Guards
Commercium
House Daratan
House Crassus

I'm almost definitely wrong, but speculation is fun!

I quickly dusted off my Ultima manual to decipher those runes on the black cape and came up with nonsense, seems they are based on the norse runic alphabet  Embarrassed

Could we see how they look on a character, btw?

From top left to bottom right:

House Daratan
Imperial Guards
Commercium
House Crassus
House Aurelian
Cape for a very special character

The thieves and assassins have no capes with markings. They can use generic colored capes, especially black and brown.

I will ask Ivan to cook up a video Wink

First, the combat demo, then anything else. I think that at this point 90% of people want to actually play the game than watch another video of it.

Yes, please. Another video would not only delay the demo beta, but also make me drown in my own drool.

According to the Futhark (runic alphabet) page on Wikipedia, that just looks like gibberish, although I could have misread some characters.

They are awesome words of power that your puny minds cannot comprehend and see it as "gibberish".

lol

You know, at one point I thought of making a secret message (for this and the runes on the portal), but whatever we could come up with would fall short. Or be lulzy and break the illusion of being something that feeble minds cannot comprehend.
