Since I believed I was getting my game on a bullet, but now am not, how do I get a copy of the game? I did not go the Steam route because I don't use it. If I have to use it to get a copy I obviously have to now with no physical reward. What is the process? Thanks.

You are entitled to a digital version of the game.  You can choose Steam or GOG.  Since you do not use steam, you will want GOG.  Gog is a download site that simply lets you download your games, it doesn't require you to install its own software or require anything else to be running.

You will have to signup with gog so you can claim your game

http://www.gog.com/

After that PM doublebear on the Kickstarter page so they can verify your identity and that you haven't claimed a game yet. Tell them the email address you want associated with your game on GOG.

Let me know once you do that so I can email them as well to let them know.  I don't think they check the KS page much anymore.

I've still not received a usable code to redeem the game on GOG. Not sure what I have to do for DB to respond.

Thanks,
George

We wrote to GOG about the expired code issue and still haven't heard back. We will follow up with them this week.
