^In Bioware's defense, that jumps out as so different from the rest of the dialogue in the game that it strikes one as deliberately humorous.

I guess you are right, because I thought the whole Dantooine part was supposed to be very different from the rest of the game.

Here are the safest, most peaceful, and most easygoing group of farmers in a galaxy currently under wartime. The people there are akin to small, sheltered babies.

Yet, the Dantooine residents act like their problems are the worst in the universe. One Jedi "turns to the darkside", because she accidentally hit her master in anger. One woman panics, because her droid lovetoy has run away from her. And here these two farming families are, ready to kill each other, because of a petty dispute. Their melodramatic behaviour was a parody of itself.

For somebody who survived travelling through mutant sewers, violent areas of Taris undercity gangs, an extremely dangerous swoop race, a firefight inside the home of one of the most powerful mobsters in the galaxy, and the destruction of a planet early in the game, all these problems of such people and their insistence that you solve them seems like an obsession with trivialities.

I had forgotten this particular quest. When I first fired up that vid I thought someone made a soap-like mashup with the intent to make a parody of it. Then I slowly realized it was actually how it all went down. I stopped laughing then.

It was deliberate, I'm pretty sure.

Since it's from The Witcher 2, I have to tag this. It's from Act 2, while siding with the Scoia'tel for those of you who've passed that part or finished the game.

"A little while ago, a good friend's wife asked me what playing Dungeons & Dragons involved. Long story short, it turns out that it's basically improv without an audience or time pressure, and a lot of rules. Every time anyone wants to attempt something, it's basically subject to a referee. Who is incidentally trying to kill you. In a fair and impartial manner." - Priapist

That graph strongly implies that every one of those excuses is equally pathetic. If anything we are to respect the red folks for being honest.
