Thing is... the area in the desert with two volcanoes just looks like sad smiley too much.

Sad

Maybe changing the "mouth" line just a bit could work... or maybe its intentional?

My mother told me the same thing yesterday... Tongue

What do you think that destroyed the martian civilization? And where do you think we come from?

The finished map looks awesome (even though I'd say there's still something wrong with the craters: the perspective is off, it's like they're depicted from a straight top down view and the rest of the map is from a different angle). I might order it from the store once I have money.

Well... when im in my strange entity outside realms of man and gods who slays lovecraftian gods for breakfast i surely can! Mister.
Besides its not the "eyes" that are the problem but the mountain range above them that makes the mouth.

That look like Alexanderian Empire after alien orbital strikes, with a series of pasting on the face of the dry region of ancient persia.

Awesome!

Hi fellas... just popping in to give a different perspective on the "crater-face" subject. I really hope some of you remember the classic Dune, that was a truly amazing adventure\slow paced "rts" game. Dune had a cool globe map. When you first gain acces to the map you analyze it, trying to figure out where you are, where your possibly going... and then you see a wierd mountain\crater that has a form of a fish. You think its just an easter egg or something. But when you get a mission that states "Find the smuggler village at the.. fishes mouth" and you get a clue to check your map, it becomes evident that it was not placed there by chance. Smile

So my point was that this kind of thing can be made to give the game more diversity. I've attached the map. Btw the Dune map also has a lot of craters.
And i really like the map, its very nice. Good details, nice desatureated colors, good spaceing. I'm looking foward to be traveling between the locations.

Just one more thing, a minor nitpick. The painted 2d background has very definite, hard shadows but the 3D locations have soft ones. The only area that has soft shadows on the background are the northern mountains. This is not a huge problem because it looks good this way, just thought that pointing out this inconsistancy will improve the next map you will be makeing.

Also, why are the roads blurry?
