The comments don't sound exactly thrilled. Then again, they rarely are at RPS, for TB games in particular.

The posters at RPS would have trashed Xcom or Baldur's Gate when they came out.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun Interview with Brian post-combat demo video

I've been fielding some questions and concerns there, but I'm asking our hardcore fans to jump in and start answering questions and directing people here for drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and discussion.  Okay, maybe it's just discussion...   But I would totally offer drinks and hors d'oeuvres if I could!

Generally, I just want to get people excited about what's still to come in the game, and get people visiting the forums so that they'll know when pre-orders go up Smile Your help is appreciated!

I actually quite like that about RPS. they are less inclined to jump on the hype wagons developpers/publishers create in order to generate €$£ for their mediocre games, though they are far from impartial (as befits a good journalist).

PC Gamer Executive Editor, Evan Lahti, named Dead State as one of his favourite games at PAX.

Check out the podcast at the 58:00 mark for a nice, if brief, discussion.

Thank you Brian! Some of the beginning was sad, and tough to read, but I'm so happy you choose the path that you did. Choosing the indy route is better for the team, and better for the gamers.

I don't buy watered down BS anymore. I haven't for a few years now. So thank you again for sticking to the belief to make a true, honest, thought provoking good game. I know I can at least speak for a few people that we'll support this decision because we want you, and more like you to keep this up.

Nice! Thanks for the link. The game sounds absolutely brilliant. I suspect I'll be sinking a silly amount of hours into Dead State next year.

Is DoubleBear considering Steam early access? Apologies if this has already been covered.

If you’re a fan of the old Black Isle games, I think you’re going to be incredibly happy with the output of Iron Tower and DoubleBear.

I have a feeling I will be too.

Yes. We'll need to figure out details in the next few months. The demo is definitely going up on Steam, and you will need to have pre-ordered/backed it to get access to it.
