It's because there's not that many people on greenlight overall. In first few days greenlight had a huge banner on store main page. It resulted in big mess, with people posting Battlefields and Minecraft etc, because they didn't know what Greenlight is about. Now, with new queue system and registration fee the system is much more usable, but of course traffic is slower, because the store banner is gone, many people just tried it in first days and never came back etc. It was expected this would happen after few days.

Hopefully. But we need to get some momentum. Even few dozens of people could help to get it a little bit higher on the list. Use twitter, facebook, whatever. The game just needs some exposition...

Or that the marketing wasn't good know, it's not like everyone knows everything about everything. You seem to think that good product just magically sells itself, but the truth is, if noone knows about it, noone buys it. You need press coverage, trailers, previews, reviews, interviews, reddit AMA sessions etc. to sell a product...

Have you considered some kind of trailer? It's probably one of the best marketing tools nowadays (and reason for gaming sites to mention AoD). It doesn't have to be expensive CGI, just mix some concept arts, music, little bit of gameplay and add some voice over narration. Present the world, main themes of the game and such...

How about contacting youtube celebrities like TotalBiscuit or Yogscast? TB's first impression series is probably not an ideal format for this kind of game, but if he likes it, he could spread a word on twitter or in other videos. He has hundreds of thousands of views on anything he produces, I think it is worth a shot.

And of course maintaining a contact with leading PC sites (Rock Paper Shotgun, PC Gamer) would be very helpfull too:).

Generally, I don't have a problem with difficult combat. But this guy has a point:,2565.msg83239.html#msg83239

The game throws you into classic unrealistic RPG situations (clear bandit camp or I won't talk to you) and then kills you with no mercy, because it suddenly decided to turn into realistic combat simulator. In the current build, combat mechanics just aren't very compatible with design of tasks you face. I think that is the problem of most people, I wouldn't overlook that issue with classic "omg they're retards, we are hardcore" attitude. Plus, Vince should keep in mind that using people who spent years playing it for difficulty balance and feedback is maybe not the best idea in the world:).

From the commercial point of view it is quite important to try to push it on Steam, at least if they want make some bucks on this project (and who wouldn't?). It is naive to presume they will sell many copies just from their website or whatever.

Very nice changes. I agree with this though:
...I just think that in the case of tags, it will actually benefit the player experience rather than detract from it once the other issues are resolved......It may sound silly, but it is good for the player to directly be able to see "Hey look!  All these points I put in persuasion are doing something!"........A game can certainly work fine without tags, or without showing the player his chance to hit, but I think both serve as useful feedback to improve the players experience and help alleviate frustration.

Seriously, I think some sort of skill synergies would be the answer perhaps Smile With weapons you generally only use one, but with non-combat skills you never know which one you will need.
This. As a noncombat character you can encounter large variety of skillchecks (persuasion/streetwise/disguise/sneak/critical etc.) with not enough points to level all of them. You have to stack your skillpoints and use them AFTER you find out what next necessary skillcheck requires. Because when you fail in series of skillchecks, you are stuck with combat you can't win and that is dead end.

I think it would help if "synergy" thing would be used in non-combat skills as well. Right now the game is trial and error as thief/talker, because there is a lot of skills and not so many skillpoints to level all relevant ones. It is just a guessing game with lots of dead ends and restarts. Some synergy between persuasion/etiquete/lore, stealing/sneaking etc could at least help with this design flaw.
