She was probably getting too emotional.

These games are much more about puzzles and exploration than about visual effects. I'm not saying that that's good or bad, but it's probably wise to expect lots of lever-pulling, teleporting, "where that sound come from?" moments.

Yeah again, are you talking about the EE or just The Witcher 2 in general?

What, the EE adds more story elements to the game?

The general consensus is that Sons of Anarchy is pretty good show. I watched up to the middle of the second season and just could not keep my interest on it. I never got the feeling the show was bad or anything, maybe a bit contrived but so what, but I wasn't attracted enough to the characters I think is the issue. I'm not sure I can remember enjoying a show that didn't have at least one character I liked; Fargo for example had Malvo, and though I wasn't particularly attached to any of the other characters Malvo was enough to carry things.

Watched the first few episodes of The Honorable Woman and so far it's been very good and very promising. It's not an exciting action-style deal, think The Good Shepard if you've seen that flick. Great acting, great writing, and great music. Like I said only few eps in, but it looks like a hit. Definitely the main show I'm following at the moment.

Watched the two episodes of Tyrant. It has what may be the flattest characters I can remember. Everyone is exactly what they appear to be. The loving "why won't you talk to me, honey?" wife, the "you just don't understand, I was escaping how fucking badass I secretly am" husband, the irritating, snotty, self-centered, "I was born to chase and misuse power" son, and last but not least, the pseudo-feminist "I'm all geared up for some ethical conlicts" daughter. Nice idea, but god damn, the flatness.

Watched some of The Strain, and it's not bad. The show itself doesn't do anything particularly well, but the casting director deserves a pat on the back. Much of the acting is top notch, and the writing is decent enough to keep things moving along. It does try to be generic in many cases with predictable setups and conundrums, but still, it's ok if you're bored enough, or if like me you put shows like this on in the background while you do chores or play XCOM: Enemy Within with the Long War Mod which is pretty bitchin' so far.

Tried to watch another anime, Attack on Titan. I'm not sure why DBZ/Naruto style series are so popular, I personally can't stand them. Gave it my best shot and watched 10 episodes, but I can't go on. Again, not a bad show or anything, just not to my taste. It's very possible that the only anime series right for me have already been made a decade or more back. Too bad.

What's the word on mod tools?

So, was the tomato-vine conflict ever resolved?

The more it's pushed back, the more confident I feel.

Even the user reviews I've seen have unremittingly scathing.  Looks like this game should win an award or something.

OK, watched Fargo. I can't deny that it's outstanding, best thing I've seen since True Detective. It's a quality show all around, but for me - and for most, I suspect - the real draw is Thornton's incredibly deft portrayal of Malvo. Really, really great. Reminds me of Bardem in No Country for Old Men. One of my favorite character types: the true sociopath.

Started watching Banshee as it came recommended from many sources, and so far it's been a trite, melodramatic, cliched mess. Appearances over acting, car-chases over content. The Wise Old Black Man and The Token Flamboyantly Gay Hairstylist Caricature round out the mediocrity nicely. I'll watch more of it to see where it goes, but it bares all the hallmarks of typical pop-TV tripe. Watching it after Fargo makes it seem terrible in compared to what it probably is, which is just "bad".

Next up is Continuum, whose pilot did not bode well, but at least there's a hint of possibility in the core concept. No way I'm getting my hopes up for it though.

Oh and now that the second season has begun (I haven't watched any yet), I just want to remind people that Utopia is fucking great, and should be seen immediately. It may lack the gravity of True Detective, but it really is quality entertainment. And I love Arby.

I still haven't gotten around to playing much, but the dialog seems pretty good. It's slightly humorous, but not obnoxious. I wouldn't put it at the same level as MotB, but I may be biased due to preferring the darker story. D:OS is not a dark game as far as I can tell, but the writing is certainly better than the average fare.

C&C remains to be seen, there are choices (who to save, fight or submit, etc) but I have no idea how the larger game is effected by the decisions I've made. Still, there are opportunities at least, and they aren't ME3 style nonsense.

It's incredible that font-scaling still isn't automatically included these days. What happens when the next generation of monitors becomes standard? More legacy hacks like the ones I use for Planescape and BGII.

^ Me too, and that's pretty much how it is in the beginning. Also the Spider minion is pretty strong.

So kinda like ToEE then?
