Title: Can I Win?
Post by: Traveling Bard on March 11, 2018, 02:05:55 pm
I'm no stranger to failed DR runs where you get to a 'brick wall' of sorts where victory is impossible. However, in my latest Dagger/CS run i breezed through 90% of the game with virtually no difficulty and then suddenly hit the wall on the last 2 fights before leaving the prison. I'm making this thread to see whether I genuinely messed up or if there's a way I could beat the Emperor/Constructs of doom and finally beat a v1.6 run of the game.

I will leave a screenshot of my build as well as a savegame, and for anyone else who has 'brickwalled' feel free to do the same. Let's see if we can help each-other out!

Well, I had a look and I think you need to certainly make us of crafting better. As a minimum, I tend to try and get Hieron lvl 6 Crafting for Steelworking.
The main armour now for your squad would have been Worm Exoskeleton Armour, but it seems you need lvl 6 for that too.

I then went another route of simply crafting the strongest armour giving up on dodging for now.
I could not defeat the constructs protecting the lab, but I managed to beat the Emperor in one try, so I may have overkilled it with the neurostimulants.
Simply use the bola on the emperor's head and you can kill him in two turns.

I've attached pre and post combat saves below.
