Let's discuss various modding aspects and post our mods here.

Standard installation of the mod (unless otherwise specified):
0) Make a copy of original files ./art/gui.aod and scripts.aod in the game dir to any other place.
1) Download the archive.
2) Unpack it to the ./mods/ folder in the game dir.

Uninstallation:
1) Delete the mod's sub-folder in the ./mods/ folder in the game dir.
2) Copy your previously saved original files ./art/gui.aod and scripts.aod to the game dir.

The files ./art/gui.aod and scripts.aod in the game dir are an archives, actually, and could be navigated through by some unpackers or file managers (i.e. Total Commander) like usual folders.

How to enable/disable mod (without uninstalling it):
1) Find the file .taml inside the mod's sub-folder.
2) Find the line Enabled=x inside of that file. Where x:
1 - enables the mod
0 - disables the mod

Don't install/enable mods simultaneously - they wouldn't work! (unless otherwise specified)

If you want to try some 100%-compatible mods, install next one:


A cumulative mod named "Community Edition".

Modification:
- expanded and added game content from next smaller mods:
 - Awesome Veteran;
 - Fast Arena Fights;
 - Key to the Sky;
 - Miltiades' Profit;
 - New Items;
 - Praetor Last Stand;
 - Praetor Palace TA;
 - Respirator TG4;
 - Rewards Fix;
 - RU signs.

Languages: EN, RU.

Installation:
0) Make a copy of original file ./art/gui.aod, scripts.aod and the folder ./levels/ in the game dir to any other place.
1) Download the archive.
2) Unpack it to the ./mods/ folder in the game dir.
3) Copy ./CommunityEdition/scripts/data/ sub-folder from it to the file scripts.aod, overwriting any files.
4) Copy ./CommunityEdition/art/gui/inv/ sub-folder from it to the file ./art/gui.aod, overwriting any files.
5) Copy ./CommunityEdition/art/shapes/ and ./CommunityEdition/levels/ sub-folders from it to the game dir, overwriting any files.

1st will be a small mod named "Fast Arena Fights".

Modification:
- added "Let's not waste any time - prepare the next fight." option in the dialogue with Arena Master after some fights on Maadoran Arena, which allows to go the next fight at once (except for the thief, barbari and Hamul fights).

Languages: EN, RU.

Installation:
0) Make a copy of original file scripts.aod in the game dir to any other place.
1) Download the archive.
2) Unpack ./scripts/data/ sub-folder from it to the file scripts.aod, overwriting any files.

2nd will be a slightly larger mod named "New Items".

Modifications:
- added some weapons from the Dungeon Rats (Verutum, Kopis, Xiphos, Gorza) and new 1-handed spear (Pitchfork), armors from the Dungeon Rats (Leather Vest, Reinforced Leather Vest) and old Power Armor (w/o gauntlet, power helmets and mods, can use 2-h weapon, ID 2502 and 2503 via Console Command). All of them except for the Pitchfork and the Power Armor are fully craftable;
- changed the Shorty merchandise (adding some IG capes and wolf helmets, and rearranging some other items);
- changed Teron cloth storekeepers merchandise (adding more clothes of various colors);
- changed some Teron, Maadoran and Ganezzar merchants merchandise (by adding all new items);
- used "Sky Metal Chopper" mod.

Languages: EN, RU.

Installation:
0) Make a copy of original files ./art/shapes/man/materials.cs.dso, ./art/gui.aod and scripts.aod in the game dir to any other place.
1) Download the archive.
2) Unpack it to the ./mods/ folder in the game dir.
3) Copy ./NewItems/scripts/data/ sub-folder from it to the file scripts.aod, overwriting any files.
4) Copy ./NewItems/art/gui/inv/ sub-folder from it to the file ./art/gui.aod, overwriting any files.
5) Copy ./NewItems/art/shapes/ sub-folder from it to the folder ./art/ in the game dir, overwriting any files.

Warning! There is used items animation from the AoD, not from the DR, so it can be weird-looking. It will be fixed later, when I (or anyone else) will figure it out.

Here's an alternate balance mod. Basically, increases both AP and HP for you and enemies, making more combat actions possible while keeping the same pace, stabilizing the RNG output.

Installation (thanks to Sunfire for the description):
0) Make a copy of original file scripts.aod in the game dir to any other place.
1) Download the archive.
2) Unpack it to the ./mods/ folder in the game dir.
3) Copy the scripts.aod from the ./AlternateCombatBalance/scripts/ sub-folder and overwrite the original one.

The game does not support .dat files replacement, which in this case was needed to increase the max AP from armors, so that's why I had to make it an scripts.aod file replacement.

Here are some nets buffing mods:

Modifications:
- changed netted effect and its in-game description (5 variants).

Languages: EN, RU.

Installation (common part):
0) Make a copy of original file scripts.aod in the game dir to any other place.
1) Download the archive.
2) Unpack it to the ./mods/ folder in the game dir.

Variants:

1. Netted effect lasts 2 turns and 3 on critical hit (instead of 1 and 2), like a year ago before.
Installation (mod-specified part):
3) Copy ./Nets2turns/scripts/data/ sub-folder from it to the file scripts.aod, overwriting any files.

I dunno why but simply changing a part of the AttackConstructor in the mod doesn't work for me (and some other players). What's the catch?

I'm noticed weird language bug while modding: some of texts and windows (not all) occasionally changed from EN to RU when loadind new mod (resulting RU or unreadeble fonts here and there). It can be solved by shifting language to RU, apply, then back to EN.
