Oh it definitely isn't a high priority in a game like this, combat should be at the bottom of the list if you ask me. I was just suggesting that for the same amount of work it would take to make 50 weapons, maybe you can make 5 weapons with 10 options each. I don't know if that is true or not, as far as the time it would take, just something to think about.
As far as the research system goes I hadn't even though about the implementation. The fact that you intend for it to be so in depth is very promising. I'd love to hear more about that. I work for an indie developer so I know all about priorities. If it helps at all the only research system I can think of right now is the X-Com system, obviously that wouldn't work in this game, but maybe it can give you some ideas? I suppose the idea of dissecting a mythos creature to gain understanding about it doesn't fit quite as well, and capturing a live one is right out

. Anyway really looking forward to the game and hearing more about it, the character generator has got me pumped up.
