Some images of the new dialogue screens. Darker background + bigger fonts + centered in widescreen. Suggestions are welcomed.

Screen with 768 height.

Screen with 900 height.

Screen with 1080 height.

Some fans from Russian AoD boards find the original font used in the game rather irritating. It would be awesome to be able to change the font to something more conventional. The same concerns the font size - being able to set it for oneself would be the best solution.

This is EXACTLY what I wanted for my 1920 x 1080 resolution. Smile

As far as I'm concerned, this is much more comfortable to read than the old dialogue window. I especially like the fact that it is now centered.

I'm not sure if I can point out any further improvements to be made. Perhaps make the 1920 x 1080 dialogue window slightly more compact, but I'm not sure if I'd like that any better.

At any rate, I'm happy to see this being worked on. Definitely way more comfortable.

I have some doubts whether the slightly transparent backgrounds interfered with the readability of the text in a meaningful way to warrant this change. At lower resolutions, you've essentially letterboxed the image, it doesn't look as good (subtle) as before.
Would it be too time-consuming at this stage of developement to make "dialogue window background transparency" and "smaller/bigger font" toggleable in the options menu? Especially the former.

Text in center looks good.

The less transparency the better Salute

I still liked that old dialogue screen more, more oldschool.

Is this implemented if we download a new version?

I don't mind the current font, but if you're going to replace it, you should still go for something that suits the UI and the game look. That one I think looks too 'standard' and thus jarring & unprofessional (that is, as if you just put a default font in there). I wonder if something like Candara might work.

If you're going to give a choice, of course, it's all fine, but that's also extra work...

Tigranes brings up some good points.

While I feel the new font is actually easier to read, the old (current) font fits the UI and game look much better.

So yeah, I agree with everything Tigranes said. Smile

Candara, as per Tigranes suggestion (disregard the other fonts, just look at the main text).

At 900.

(click to show/hide)

At 1080.

I really like this. It's easy to read and it looks good. Approve

I might be in the minority here, but I vastly prefer the currently implemented font - the new ones don't complement the overall theme/setting at all as far as I'm concerned... Make them optional, I beg of you.
