Okay, after watching a video on youtube of a voiced SNES monster truck racing game that has Ozzy on its soundtrack, I withdraw my disparaging statements about RnRR.

Hey, I've been playing the combat demo for a few days now and I love it! This game is sweet, and I'm giving you my hearty thumbs up and future patronage.

So whAt's left exactly? Just a bit of tweaking, polish and fleshing out?

All content is done. We are going over everything and making it as "final" as possible. For example, all models and textures for the game are done, and 95% of the levels (I only need to add some filler like vegetation, trash, etc. in Ganezzar, the rest are completely done). So what I'm doing is optimizing everything, fixing some things I did wrong in the past, and making all models and locations final.

Same goes for some of the older quests. Some were extremely simple, and we added some options to them. Also improving some of the writing. For example, the old Loremaster vignette was pretty straightforward, no checks, nothing. So we added a couple of checks for lore and persuasion, which create different results, and improved the description and writing.

So yes, we are going over everything polishing all the rough edges, improving the weakest parts, and also working on optimizing the engine. It's going to take a while, due to being a small team and some of us working part-time, but we are going very well.

I was just playing the second quest of the Assassins Guild in Teron. At the end of it, me and two of my fellow assassins where pitted against 4 imperial guards. Really tough fight.

We managed to kill 3 guards (well, mostly them. My character is still a noob by guild standards). Coltan, the bald guy, was badly wounded and out of bolts, and Fulvio was almost dead, being attacked by a spearman. So I decided to save his life. When Fulvio retreated, I placed myself between the spearman and him, since I still had some HP left. Well, I survived a round, and in the next one I made a bad call. The spearman still had lots of HP, and by then I only had 1HP. I should have disarmed him and ran away, and let him focus on the others. But I disarmed him and attacked (hoping what?), and he killed me the next round. I sacrificed my life for Fulvio, but I don't know if they survived... The last thing I saw before everything fading to black was Coltan doing some puny damage with his dagger...

PS: The fire particles are kinda crappy, I didn't work on them yet.

1. The lighting and the art design look great.

2. My god do I want to play this game.

You will. I can assure you that the delay is well justified. Oscar is combing through the quests, looking for missed opportunities and ways to improve them. The game is really beginning to shine now.

It's interesting to see how well placed lighting can compensate for limited polycount. In other words, looking good Salute

Best lighting I've seen so far in screenshots. Good work!
