Hello everyone.

Just wanted to say that I am very much looking forward to this game, and have been following it for a while by reading it's forum on Codex now and then, and when I read that it's offical forum opened, I figured I may as well join. Here are  my observations on the game (if anyone cares):

1.) I really like the graphics, seriously, if you guys get the game out sooner than later, it will probably set a new standard in Indy RPG graphics quality. This can only be a good thing, as it should force other Indy developers to improve their standards, and as well help sales of AOD. Spiderweb is the prime example here. Good games, too few and sparse graphical improvements.

2.) Setting is very original and I look foward to exploring it. Unfortunatly, I think there might be a danger that's it's too far removed from standard "orcs, dwarfs, and elves"  setting, possibly eliminating a lot of potential buyers. I know such settings are done to death, but I honestly belive people actually enjoy the familiar, especially a lot of old school rpg players. Hopefully that will not hinder AOD's succes.

3.) If this game delivers on half of it's promissed roleplaying options, it could easily be the best rpg ever made. Keep up the good work.  Smile

The graphics are good, but I think it may be the setting that makes it. If it was an generic medieval setting, it probably wouldn't be as good. And no bloom.

You only think that becuase they have gotten to you. Run away...run away fast! Seriously, they enjoy it becuase that's all they get and don't expect anything different. So they dumb down their wants and will be happy with anything. See ign. Or Gamespot.

Yep, looks pretty cool. I'm liking what I've read about it thus far, and I enjoyed the combat vid on the main website,  seems to have a nice variety of animations and such.

I first heard about it on RPGWatch I think, finally decided to take a closer look, and here we all are.

I've been following the game for a while too, and it seems like it's gonna be a classic. I'm very optimistic about the whole project, although there seemed to be talk of having no sound effects at all? It's not essential for me, but it could really alienate a lot of potential customers.
The graphics are definitely better than any other indie-rpg I've seen, so I would agree that it might raise the bar for other developers. Some people might dislike the unusual choice of setting, but I don't think that's gonna be a big problem. The Roman "flavor" might actually be beneficial, since a lot of people are interested in that part of history.

C'mon, it was a joke.

Well, I wasn't sure. Some people seemed to take it seriously in an old thread, if I remember correctly. Thanks for clearing it up, though.
