3D art: Pawn Shop, new props 01-14-10

This is a work in progress. (Isn't everything?) I'll be adding more props to make it look properly cluttered and junky, as well as a second floor interior and roof. Just thought I'd throw these things out before the Christmas holiday.
Now updated with shadow casting!

Very nice! I like it!
The only suggestions I would make is to make the big white letters outside a little more faded and decayed (not much, as I assume is a somewhat new shop). Right now the color and shape is too uniform and stands out as a little fake.
But apart from that, great work! I really love the clock and guitar models

Love the period touches, I'm so sick of medieval fantasy already.

It looks like it's going to be a bit of a tight fit for the player to be in, but maybe my sense of scale is off.

Nicely done!
My main suggestion : You're mainly using textures that tiles in both directions, horizontally and vertically. What you can do is, for example when you're making a wall, have the textures tile horizontally but not vertically. This allows you to add dirt along the bottom/top or a skirting, even a bit of fading in the centre. This creates a better visual effect, the surfaces don't look so "flat". See this :
http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs23/f/2008/003/7/d/Wall_Texture_by_shadowh3.jpg
Note the details along the top and bottom horizontal directions? This texture wouldn't tile vertically, but it looks good tiling horizontally along a wall surface.
You ARE doing this for the main brick texture, but you can go a little more crazy with it in general, it makes a big difference. I generally do it by layering parts of other textrues over the base one, creating a composite. Photoshop filters also help.

Yes, that's a great suggestion. That's what I mostly do with wall textures in AoD.

Very interesting! It was a no-brainer with the bricks since I can still easily tile vertically with the same image, as you said. But this could easily work with any single-story wall texture, even if I just used it to add a little extra lighting contrast.
