Sorry if this has been asked before, but I could not find it.

So, is there one?  Any idea at all?

Thanks.

There's an unofficial FAQ... well, was. I'm sure it'll get reposted once Vince has sufficient time to turn it into an official one. So:

Q: When will Age of Decadence be released?

A: "When it's done." (Ref)

I usually don't worry about this stuff, but is it safe to assume it'll be out in 2008?

No! That kind of thinking could get us all killed!

It's hard to say when the game will be released. The important thing is it's playable and all the content is done. Right now we are going over everything and improving what needs to be improved. We'll take as long as we need and will release only a polished, well designed game.

That's great to hear. I'd rather the game be polished and very playable when it's released then have to worry about waiting for a patch to fix game breaking bugs. Is there any chance that you will need external play testers?

That's great to hear. But I would hate for you guys to spend so much time and effort in to AOE, that sales will have no hope of covering the costs. I think there is a point when you should just say, "It's good enough", no such thing as a perfect game after all, and people will allways find something to complain about.

Thanks for the concern, but developing costs do not increase with the type of polishing we are doing. It takes a little more time, but not money.

Alright, I'm going to be totally funny. Get ready for this everyone: It gets released THURSDAY!!! HAHA! How clever am I? Seriously? Wink

But I seriously want to ask this everyday. I'm too excited about this game. I've just recently got into games the last two years(I'm 17) and I haven't looked forward to a game this much yet. Everyday, I want to see an announcement saying "AOD released now!" but I know it won't happen. I'm actually more pessimistic about it expecting a "Man scams the internet, fakes a game". Is it possible? In my mind it is...

You don´t know how much I envy you. I´ve been into games for more than half my life, and I feel that I´ve played everything. I have seen game genres born (For example Dune 2, the first RTS as we know them today). Now it´s a miracle when I find a game that really surprises me.

Everything is possible, but I can assure you that AoD will be released.

Oh! That's enough to tell all those complaining about AoD being a management failure and all why it isn't Smile

Heh. The problem is that I get games overblown(Fallout, Zelda:OOT, BG2, etc.) that their is no way they can reach my expectations. I've just recently decided to not listen to the damn hypetrains after Bioshock, and Mass Effect.

Me: "They can't lie to us, I'm sure there is a law..."
Codex: You blind, You see soon enough."
Me: "Shit, it was all shit."
 Codex: "We all must learn."

 Not again.
